I haven't seen my freshman year, yearbook in years...and I just found it and thought it'd be funny to show you what I looked like... This was my school picture. And I have no idea why it's torn, why it's drawn all over...but that was me, as a freshman.
I love how the caption says: Smiling really big, Kandee Johnson is truly enjoying high school! If they really knew the truth....I did not like high school very much. Many mean girls and people were not nice to me. I was made fun of for the way I dressed, to being made fun of because I wouldn't cuss or do things that other kids did. Some of the cheerleaders in my class weren't so nice to me. I had a couple friends that played basketball and volleyball, so when they had away games, I'd eat lunch by myself or in my classroom with my teachers.
and...
the only reason I had so many "extra" pictures taken of me, that got put in the yearbook, is that one of the guys that was on the yearbook team, sort of fancied me, and always seemed to be everywhere I turned! ha ha ha (in the picture above, I was getting my money out to by a slice of greasy Dominoes pizza- Dominoes has gotten way better since then!- I totally remember that moment!) I'd either eat a slice of pizza or I'd get a pretzel and a giant soft pretzel and a strawberry yogurt- the pretzel/yogurt was my usual lunch. ha ha ha
as you can see in this picture...you can see on my face..."really!?! you're going to take another picture of me...I am not popular. I'm not a cheerleader. Why do you keep taking pictures of me"...ahhhhhh
If anything...I hope these brought a smile to your day! ha ha ha ha ...
and I still have had moments in life where I feel like I'm the kid that has no one to sit with at lunch! ha ha ha ha
if you were alone, I'd sit with you and I'd smile really big just because I'd be happy to sit with you, your kandee

FASHION FUN! Come "shopping" with me...
Yes, even though I don't like the term "haul" which has become so popular on youtube....
I am getting back to my fashion loving roots. Some of my very first vidoes were t-shirt cutting tutorials and DIY accessories and I miss them!
So here's is what I "hauled" home from my recent trip to FOREVER 21, TJ Maxx, Zara and one of my fav re-sale shops!
Which included this, "super star" shirt that I got at TJ Maxx (which is the same as Marshall's too)! I've been in love with star things long before, Dolce & Gabbana made it a runway trend- and I'm not sure how much their designs are- but this one was only $14.99! Which makes it a true "star" in my closet! hee hee And you'll see the star earrings and scarf I got too!
And you'll see wher I got my fun red "rocker" jacket and my cool "second hand" finds! yay! So, get read to come hang out in my room with me:
***side note: imovie has been driving me crazy for the last few months- it has been adding random clips I've deleted when I paste another one in- so you will see 2 "awesome" clips that I meant to DELETE which were added in when I exported it! ugh! I'm sure all the "I-live-for-pointing-out-others-mistakes" people will leave their comments about it! ha ha ha ha
Let me know if you guys would like to see more FASHION & ACCESSORY "hauls"- yes I tried to get teh "shop and tell" thing to catch on....but we'll see!
And comment below if you want me to start doing more "fashion tutorials" and fun accessory things like I used to!
Fashion is like freedom...you can do whatever you want with it!
It's the boring people who are scared to dress differently that make fun of those with the confidence, style and creativity to dress like individuals. That is true style. Style is not just wearing what the masses wear!
Think different. Dress different. And don't give in to the pressure to dress like everyone else.
be amazing..be you...be different...
and know I love you, your kandee

Look What's NEW from MAC, Nicki Minaj & Ricky Martin!
It's February and MAC is launching the NEW VIVA GLAM liptastic collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin! Every cent of the selling price of these babies, support the MAC AIDS Fund. So thanks to MAC, they've brought "cute with a cause"!
Nicki's Viva Glam lipstick is a pretty pop, yellow based pink in the Satin formula.
Ricky's Lip Conditioner Hydratant is a color free livin' la vida lippy tube, with a gently hint of vanilla. It has as slight sheen, definitely not a gloss look though.
The tube of Mac Viva Glam lipstick in Nicki, has her signature on it too.
Here's a swatcheroo of the "Nicki" Lip stick- it is quintessential Nicki Pink- it's a mix of a classic pink from the 80's and Barbie. I like it...it's kind of Flamingo pink and I like that it's satin and not too shiny. You know how I'm a fan of the matte lip!The VIVA GLAM LIPSTICK in NICKI
$14.50 US / $17.50 CDN
and the
LIP CONDITIONER HYDRATANT$15.00 US / $18.00 CDN
will be available in North America: February 2012
and internationally at all MAC locations in March 2012
until February 2013.
so get ready to get your Nicki pink and your, Ricky Martin "Lippin' La Vida Loca"....
huge love and lipsticks, your kandee

Before & After: Sick Edition- How to Look Cute When Your Sick
Flu got you feeling ugly?
Has a cold kicked all the cute-ness from your face?
Has a virus, virtually removed all color from your once colorful face?
Here's how to look cute, or at least feel like you look better or cute, when you're sick with a cold, flu, or anything else making you feel "not-so-great"!
As you probably know, I am sick as I type this...and I thought, "hey, what better time than to do a tutorial on how "look better when you don't feel better". And since I don't really like to wear make-up when I'm sick, but you don't want to look so awful and washed out- here's my "make-up tutorial" for when you are feeling yucky.
So sip on some tea, grab your box of Kleenex, and come watch my tips for "how to look cute with a cold" :
(PS. I'll list all the stuff I used below the video, too)
#1. Apply a Self-tanner to give to life and glow back to your face that your cold has robbed from you.
I used: St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse
#2. A little foundation can go a long way to knock our the redness of a cold.
I used: L'Oreal VisibleLift Foundation
#3. Conceal the redness of the signature "rudolph the red-nosed sick person", with a little "heavier coverage foundation- it will be creamier than a concealer, which is great for how dry a cold makes the skin and nose area, already.
I used: Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation
#4. Add some contour, dimension and color to your face with concealer pencils. I don't like adding blush or dry bronzers when I'm sick, but you want to add some color so you don't look like your dead with just one foundation color all over.
I used: Urban Decay's 24/7Concealer Pencils (that I love to contour and highlight with- it's so fun, just like you're coloring!) I used it in shade: M16
#5. Powder only where you feel needed. I just powder the eyelid area mostly, because I don't want my foundation or concealer to crease. Any powder will work.
#6. Curl the stars of your face: the lashes and apply your fav mascara!
I used: Voluminous False Fiber Mascara ( I love this mascara because it makes your lashes truly look like you have fake lashes on, and if that's all I'm going to have for eye make-up, they better dazzle!)
#7. Last but not least- lips need some love and moisture. If you're blowing your nose and drinking as much water as you can, you don't want a bright color lipstick or gloss coming off on your tissue or water glass or tea mug.
I used: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sugar Frosting
TIP: And perhaps one of the most important parts when you are sick- after you've kicked your cold or flu, you want to make sure you wash all your brushes that you used while you were sicky and make-sure you disinfect all your make-up (which you should always do anyway). And you don't want to use alcohol because it can dry out and change the consistency of your cosmetics as well as change the pigment too. I love and use BEAUTY SO CLEAN cosmetic disinfecting spray.
I love it because Beauty So Clean has been clinically proven to remove Staphylococcus Aureus, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Escherichia Coli (E. coli)
I hope everyone who's sick feels better and if you are not sick, just save this in your "mind library" for the next time a cold or flu sneaks up on you!
bowls of yummy soup, mugs of tea, and lots of huge hugs to you from me, your kandee

Top 3 Make-Up "Looks" Guys Seem To Hate
Now, I don't care if guys like my make-up or not...I don't care if guys like my clothes or not. For most of my life, I've worn clothes that are more "tomboy-ish" or not anything that girls typically wear to attract guys. I just wear what I like and what makes me feel happy, comfortable and confident.
However I thought it was interesting to see what guys "think" is unattractive about women and their make-up. So here is the very interesting,
TOP 3 THINGS THAT MOST GUYS HATE ABOUT MAKE-UP (and I emphasize "most", because I've dated guys and know guys that love girls with artfully applied make-up-in any color and any amount. I even had a boyfriend years and years ago, that always wanted to watch me put my make-up on, because he said it was like watching a painter paint!):
#1. RED LIPS
Guys don't seem to be fans of any red, dark, red, or bright colored lips while we're at it! But as I've asked, the problem seems that they wouldn't want it smeared all over them if they were to steal a kiss. So in their mind it isn't attractive.
MY OPINION: Yeah, yeah, I've known guys that can't stand red lips- for the very reason above, but I like it, I think it's classic and old Hollywood. And for the same reason, I used to wear combat boots and long hot pink skirts- I didn't get dressed with pleasing a guy in mind! ha ha ha
#2. LOTS OF FOUNDATION
Again, this goes back to the- "I don't want their face smeared all over my shirt" theory.
MY OPINION: I kinda agree with guys- you want to even out skin tone, not look like you have a new layer of thick, pastey skin. ha ha ha
My boyfriend in high school said: "I love that you don't wear any make-up!"...and I thought, "hey what did I do wrong, he can't even tell I put make-up on!?!"...but that was a good thing. And I only wore mascara, maybe eyeliner and some form of nude or pearl lipgloss from Cover girl!
#3. BOLD EYESHADOW COLOR
Turn out fun colored eyeshadow scares guys! ha ha ha I think it depends on the application too. If I wore the purple shadow from lashline to eyebrows, that might scare me too! ha ha ha
MY OPINION: I think bold colors are fun...and just because guys might like it if girls walked around in bikinis everywhere, you won't catch me in one of those either! ha ha ha
And if you want to see how to get my "purple eye" above watch this: (you might just meet a guy that loves purple eyes!) ha ha ha ha
MY FEMALE OPINION:
Don't dress to impress guys. Dress to impress you. Dress to feel great in your own individual style. You want to end up with a guy that loves you and your style anyway.
And still, quite contrary to my own opinion- almost every guy I've ever dated since high school and beyond has said they still like me with no make-up on. hmmmm What can I say, maybe they're a little cray cray! ha ha ha
I remember when I chopped off all my hair, it was kinda awesome, because I didn't get any of those "hey, how you doin'" guys ever looking at me, I got more artsy, creative guys that liked my hair because it was different. I didn't care if guys thought I was cute or attractive. I liked it. And that's why all women should get ready to make themselves feel great! By the way....I love my hair long too because I can do more styles with it....but I some days I just wanna chop it all off- and be able to get ready super fast again! ha ha ha
Please feel free to share with us all, any other "guy dislikes" you've ever heard from guys about girls beauty...at least we can all be amused together!
Not afraid to wear neon color lipstick, even if an army of guys hate it...ha ha ha ha, your kandee

Fun Ways to Store Lipsticks or Jewelry
I love fun ways to store make-up or jewelry.
I think it's fun if your make-up table, dresser, or looks like fun boutique with your lipsticks, mascara, eyeshadows, rings, or earrings displayed in cute and fun ways like this!
It will make you feel like you have your own little "beauty boutique" or "glam boudoir" to get ready in.

And I love, love, love the green giant "jack"....my great gramma has a giant "jack" that is a doorstop...she's had it for many years. It's an antique and it reminds me of being little at her house. And when I saw this green one, it had to come live at my house.
And once again, I find treasures I treasure at the treasureland I call Target!
I will be storing either my earrings and rings in these babies...or I will be storing some of my favorite lipsticks, lipglosses or mascaras in these...not sure which yet! But they will make my "getting ready" area that much prettier!
huge hugs and fun treasure dishes, your kandee
