Some days getting dressed goes like this...

Do you ever have those days where just don't like anything you have to wear? And yo change like 5 times and still don't really like what you have on, but you need to leave the house?

Well, that was me yesterday...

First I tried a few other shirts and sweaters, that either felt weird, too tight, or made me look 3 times wider than I really am.

Then I had problems with my pants...all my favorites were dirty, and all the rest are still too "pre-baby" and a bit too "stuffed like a sausage" looking.

Come into my closet:

First outfit: top ok...then having trouble with the jeans.

These are my favorite torn up jeans, that I've worn for years, they are comfy, and I love how ripped-up they are. I made a video on how to shred them here. 

***If you watch the "jeans distressing video", the squeaking you hear, is how bad my old camera was, and is squeaked! ha ha ha)***

They are beyond your typical "distressed" look. Ha Ha

But I thought since Alani was dressed all fancy, CLICK HERE to see the kids outfits of the day, I should wear my fancy jeans...

And in case anyone want to know" my silver shoes are from Royal Elastics, my black boat dress, that I wear as a shirt  from Alexander Wang (I love this over leggings, too), and my black Modal Shawl Cardigan from American Apparel.

i thought it would be festive to throw on some "pumpkin" colored nail polish, but Jordan said it was the grossest thing he's ever seen...I didn't really like it either, but with all the time I took trying to get dressed, I didn't have time to take it off...so I'm still typing with "the ugliest nails ever".

And finally this is how I ended up leaving the house...well, I had to put my shoes back on, but you get the idea...

(and I think I got my earrings, which Jordan did say are pretty cool, at Charming Charlie's)

some days you just can't win....I didn't even really like how my make-up came out either! ha ha ha

But at the end of the day...it doesn't matter what I had on, or how my eyeshadow looked a weird new shade i tried out...i had fun no matter what i looked like!

My Fashion Week Sunday in Pictures

3:30-ish: Taking Taxi to Allure (magazine) Lounge near Lincoln Center where the big Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week stages are.

Right after the Diane Von Furstenberg show, I was trying to take a picture of Valentino when my camera battery died- I turned behind me and saw my friend Jill! We hugged forever...I haven't seen her since last year!

I finally got to meet Rocco Gaglioti of Fashion News Live outside the tents. We had been trying to connect for a while. He asked if I wanted to host for Fashion News Live- I said yes and got to interview Kelly Osbourne after the Zac Posen show. She looked beautiful with a 40's inspired updo-ponytail and a chic black dress with gold detail, gorgeous grey heels and the lightest, most delicate make-up. She looked amazing and was even sweeter in person than I've seen on tv.

then I was so excited all day because I was going to meet one of my favorite YouTube gurus: Bubzbeauty, who lives in Hong Kong, but was here for Fashion Week! I love her!!!
We have only messaged each other, so it was so great to meet her in person. She is lovely, adorable, so, so nice and we had a yummy dinner and she even got to hold Cupake.

Bubz, Wendy (from Wendy'sLookBook on youtube-she is such a sweetie-pie too, baby and me, and my friend Stephanie. I never get to have dinner with friends, so this was so fun! Best Beignets ever for dessert.

Today will go down in my memory book as: "What a great day to cherish and remember always!"

i grew up watching Pee Wee's Playhouse, The Snorks, and Full House...
i wore side ponytails, studded boots, and lots of scrunchies in my hair...

I love the 80's!!!
Later in life...in the 2000's (so space-age and modern)....I did make-up for the show, I LOVE THE 80's, that's on VH1...and I always loved how they'd bring up old things I'd forgotten about...like the show, Alf, or something funny....

This outfit wasn't made to be "80's", but everyone seemed to make a comment about , "oh, rockin' the 80's"..."bringing the 80's back"..."80's..this...80's that"...ha ha ha ha
so here it is...and I'm cool with the 80's reference...I say it's more 2009-and-a-half....ha ha ha

Skapron (skirt + apron)...I made it from cutting an old pair of Levi 501's (the button fly kind), cut like in the video.....

have an awesome and rad (rad was born in the 80's and is still cool...ha ha ha) day.....

My fav pair of checkered VANS, with a pair of Dr. Scholl's Gellin' shoe inserts...they make these shoes feel like slippers!

and the staples...my watch..yellow ring....silver hoops....and my wrist cuff that my friend made me...he's the same one that made my watch....
