I love the 80's!!!

on a rooftop: downtown LA

me & my friend, Tessa- sample sale!

it looks like we're in jail!
(it was dangerously, hot outside...ooooh even the streets say DANGER in LA...ha ha ha...it's just from the old trolley cars..that my great-gramma rode on!)

i grew up watching Pee Wee's Playhouse, The Snorks, and Full House...
i wore side ponytails, studded boots, and lots of scrunchies in my hair...

I love the 80's!!!
Later in life...in the 2000's (so space-age and modern)....I did make-up for the show, I LOVE THE 80's, that's on VH1...and I always loved how they'd bring up old things I'd forgotten about...like the show, Alf, or something funny....

This outfit wasn't made to be "80's", but everyone seemed to make a comment about , "oh, rockin' the 80's"..."bringing the 80's back"..."80's..this...80's that"...ha ha ha ha
so here it is...and I'm cool with the 80's reference...I say it's more 2009-and-a-half....ha ha ha

what I slapped on to get 80-fied.....
Graphic leggings & orange earrings from FOREVER 21
white men's tank by Hanes (got it at Wal-Mart)
Orange shirt from Urban Outfitters (don't know if they have anymore)(look at still shot of the tag in the video to search for it)
BOOTS (from the vintage clothing store on Melrose Ave)
BELT (black leather belt with rings from Ross)
Chain (wallet chain from Hot Topic)
Skapron (skirt + apron)...I made it from cutting an old pair of Levi 501's (the button fly kind), cut like in the video.....

have an awesome and rad (rad was born in the 80's and is still cool...ha ha ha) day.....
enjoy this video...and the dancing...is purely because I like it!

Let me just say that I thought I was the only one who remembered the Snorks....I had the lunch box and the thermos!!! I love love love the 80's!

Random, but had a question....what is the best way to tie the bandana wrist-wrap? I have tried so many different ways and mine ends up looking like an arm-warmer....

Hey Kandee,

I love the 80's too even tough I only lived 3 years of my life in that era (I was born in 1987) but it still seems such an awesome decade and I wish I could have lived more in that decade.
I also found nice/funny video about 80's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj9OEmUr0F8&feature=fvst

Hey Kandee!

Ive been searching and searching for a makeup look that looks good for fair skinned ladies with blue eyes and blonde hair!! I havent had much luck with my search...

Also I had an idea for a new video for you, its starting to get colder here in PA so I was thinking maybe you could show us some ideas for winter makeup and clothing looks, that would be really helpful!

Thanks Kandee!

Hey Kandee!! I have some questions on how you manage to eat naturally on a budget. I find that the products are much more expensive AND recipes that are tasty are harder to come by. What are some of you staple recipes for dinner?

haha, after watching your latest video, i was going to come leave some comment love since i'm a reader but not usually a commenter (the "does anyone read my blog? :( " got to me. i feel the same way sometimes. :) ) and i see you have LOTS o' comment love!

doesn't hurt to add to it though. found a video randomly on youtube and watched about 8 of them that night and subscribed to your channel, followed you on twitter and your blog. (wow. sounds stalkerish all put together like that.)

anyway, thanks for all your tips and tutorials and for encouraging people to embrace their style and be fabulous regardless of their spending abilities.

keep it up!

Hi Kandee, I was wondering if you could do a video on how to recreate this look: http://www.beautymagician.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/fall-eye-makeup.jpg

I love the teal under her eyes and the golden shades that match it... but I'm not entirely sure how to recreate it without looking like a clown :(
