yes...I know...yet another one of my favorite turquoise jewelry pieces has broken- first my squash blossom necklace..now my beloved BOW RING!
It fell and lefty bow loop shot across the floor!
As you know, this bow ring along with my yellow rose ring are pretty much permanent fixtures on my fingers. I have seen many bow rings from Claire's to Forever21, but never have I found one that is this same color, size, or particular shape....I love it. I actually bought 3 of them, this one and one in white and black- but those colors are not as fun.
Enter Camden Lock & a little vintage treasure store
It was a chilly day, I had eaten 2 rounds of crepes, all the little stores were starting to close for the day..and being the vintage lover that I am, I thought we just have to see a vintage store here! I really didn't get to look at any of the fun clothes, since I was big and pregnant, so shoes and accessories (which truly are what makes an outfit) were what I looked at!
I remember as i was looking at all the vintage accessories...there was a little porcelain bowl filled with these plastic bow rings. And when you really love something, you know it as soon as you see it and that turquoise bow ring was what I knew I loved! (they weren't very much at all, but some of my most treasured things didn't cost much...ha ha)
I bought is almost exactly a year ago in London at Camden Lock...in this little vintage store (do any of our UK kandee family members know what this store is called?) in the corner of the brick Camden Lock stores upstairs...click here to see my little blog from the day I bought them!
I loved London... it feels like you are taken to an entire new world, so full of rich history and it just feels like you've stepped inside a painting or movie. I couldn't believe I was there...and when I even think back, it feels like a dream!
Broken is the new Beautiful
The beautiful-broken, "hidden" message that I wrote about when my squash blossom broke...
that all of us have probably been broken in some way like my necklace and ring-
*broken heart
*broken spirit
*broken dreams
*broken emotions...
and the best part is...
that I will repair my necklace to be stronger than it was before...
I have a special plastic "welding" glue that will chemically bond it with the plastic and make it stronger too...
we are like that...no matter what has broken you in this life...you can be put back together, much stronger than you were before...
Things come and go, break and get lost...nothing is as important as your ability- no matter what has shattered you- to get better and sparklier, just like a disco ball-
if it wasn't made up of a bunch of little (broken) pieces it wouldn't sparkle so much!
I'll probably have a bunch more broken pieces of jewelry...but one the one thing that will keep on getting stronger is my heart and my determination to not stay broken, but to get stronger and more sparkly!
huge love and broken rings.... your kandee
PS: yay! thanks to our UK kandee family...they found the name of the store I got it at: www.bertyandgerty

Native Comfort: Are you ready to rock the Moc?!?
I am so proud of myself, I made this set (aka collage) on Polyvore myself, it's so addicting! ha ha ha
If you're on Polyvore too, check my little Polyvore fun HERE!
I love everything in this picture, from turquoise fringe purse, to the turquoise rings, all the moccasins, those Isabel Marant tribal pattern white jeans are amazing (FYI, I saw a girl wearing them at Fashion Week...and they are awesome!)...and I love I made this collage myself! hee hee
#1. I am part Native American.
#2. I have been in love with moccasins since I was able to walk.
#3. I'd rather have turquoise than diamonds. (But believe me, that sparkly Badgley Mischka Navajo Deco Cuff is quite amazing!)
Now that we have those tidbits of knowledge out of the way...
"tribal" and "native", as every fashion blogger, designer or writer has called it...has been a hit and major influence on runways EVERYWHERE...in stores EVERYWHERE... from Tilly's to Macy's and fancy design houses!
(me in my favorite and most comfy Minnetonka Moccasins walked all over NYC with baby and my mom, and not one blister or aching foot! Click here if you wanna read my blog about my baby-adventures in NYC with my moccasins..ha ha ha)
Let me tell you something....moccasins are as comfortable as slippers. And I practically live in mine. Turquoise is beautiful on every skin tone...and I had a friend that used to joke that I preferred "rust and turquoise" to "gold and diamonds"....ha ha ha
My favorite Moccasins are the 5-tiered Minnetonka Moccasins. They are seriously like wearing slippers!
3 things you may not know about me:

Arm Fashion: golden armor and the runway watch
Gold on the subway....Yes, I took these on the subway in New York- and no, I don't care if people think I'm weird for taking pictures by myself on the subway. ha ha ha...ok maybe I felt a little weird.
Golden arm- armor! I used to not like gold...at all! I would only wear silver. Well recently I've grown fond of the goldness...
This is how I mix it up...I don't know where the studded gold cuff it from, because my sister gave it to me (she always get sme stuff I love, like my yellow flower ring!)...
But the gold bangles are from Charming Charlie, they were under $10!
the watch is my biggest splurge item, it's the Michael Kors Runway watch (for me it's the most expensive watch I've ever owned, it was $250! I had to keep asking my mom, do you think I should buy it, is that too much money?!? And she said, "not for a watch, you wear it everyday and you'll keep this for years."- and yes even though I had gift cards to buy it -gift cards are like money to me and Even giftcards I've gotten for my birthday- I end up buying the kids things with them! I also have "gift card" anxiety- I never know what to buy so I save them forever and then find out they've expired! Just found 2 expired ones in a wallet 2 days ago! (way to go Miss Indecision Kandee! ha ha ha)
..and though it's not a $500 or thousands of dollar Rolex...for me this was fancy and special, since I had been wearing my grandpa's watch for 10 years...that's how I roll, until it broke. I'll wear this for at least 10- it's a classic style that will never, go out of style...so to me it was worth it. (FYI: You can get good deals on these on Ebay!)
-oh and the gold spikey ring is from BCBG, it was on super clearance at Dillard's for $9! I love this ring...I wish they made it in silver too!
What would do you think is a good investment item...a watch, purse, earrings, shoes??? And how many years have you used a watch?
Happy golden, bangley, changley wrists....i love you more than all the watched in the world! kandee
