Oh Bow you didn't!

yes...I know...yet another one of my favorite turquoise jewelry pieces has broken- first my squash blossom necklace..now my beloved BOW RING!

It fell and lefty bow loop shot across the floor!

As you know, this bow ring along with my yellow rose ring are pretty much permanent fixtures on my fingers. I have seen many bow rings from Claire's to Forever21, but never have I found one that is this same color, size, or particular shape....I love it. I actually bought 3 of them, this one and one in white and black- but those colors are not as fun.

Enter Camden Lock & a little vintage treasure store
It was a chilly day, I had eaten 2 rounds of crepes, all the little stores were starting to close for the day..and being the vintage lover that I am, I thought we just have to see a vintage store here! I really didn't get to look at any of the fun clothes, since I was big and pregnant, so shoes and accessories (which truly are what makes an outfit) were what I looked at!
I remember as i was looking at all the vintage accessories...there was a little porcelain bowl filled with these plastic bow rings. And when you really love something, you know it as soon as you see it and that turquoise bow ring was what I knew I loved! (they weren't very much at all, but some of my most treasured things didn't cost much...ha ha)
I bought is almost exactly a year ago in London at Camden Lock...in this little vintage store (do any of our UK kandee family members know what this store is called?) in the corner of the brick Camden Lock stores upstairs...click here to see my little blog from the day I bought them!
I loved London... it feels like you are taken to an entire new world, so full of rich history and it just feels like you've stepped inside a painting or movie. I couldn't believe I was there...and when I even think back, it feels like a dream!

Broken is the new Beautiful
The beautiful-broken, "hidden" message that I wrote about when my squash blossom broke...
that all of us have probably been broken in some way like my necklace and ring-
*broken heart
*broken spirit
*broken dreams
*broken emotions...
and the best part is...
that I will repair my necklace to be stronger than it was before...
I have a special plastic "welding" glue that will chemically bond it with the plastic and make it stronger too...
we are like that...no matter what has broken you in this life...you can be put back together, much stronger than you were before...

Things come and go, break and get lost...nothing is as important as your ability- no matter what has shattered you- to get better and sparklier, just like a disco ball-
if it wasn't made up of a bunch of little  (broken) pieces it wouldn't sparkle so much!
I'll probably have a bunch more broken pieces of jewelry...but one the one thing that will keep on getting stronger is my heart and my determination to not stay broken, but to get stronger and more sparkly!

huge love and broken rings.... your kandee

PS: yay! thanks to our UK kandee family...they found the name of the store I got it at: www.bertyandgerty
