Putting the FUN back in make-up....

I ran upstairs to my "make-up/craft room" where I film the other day...
and since the house was quiet because it was nap time, I looked around at all my make-up, theatrical make-up, special fx make-up, my goodies drawers full of fun things to play with like feathers, jewels, costumes, wigs, hair spray paint...
and even though I had a huge list of things to do (like we always do..ha ha)...
it was like all my  make-up was saying, "come and play, come and have fun, come and play, come and play"......
and so with no camera filming, no tutorial, no reason for doing this look....
I just began to play...
I was inspired by:
a native american picture I had seen
  the idea of blue blush
the idea of a punk mohawk
a bag of crafting feathers I've never done anything with
white hair spray paint
and I remembered why make-up is an art to me...
my face is my always ready canvas...
instead of acrylics or oils...I used black cake eyeliner
instead of chalks or charcoal I used eyeshadow
instead of spray paint I used colored hair paint
instead of a wire or clay...I used brightly colored feathers
and I played...
(and ofcourse I had a shirt on...ha ha ha, it's just  strapless one, I didn't want to get any make-up or color spray on  my regular t-shirt...ha ha ha)
it's been a long time since I just played with my make-up...just me my mirror and my creativity running wild....and it was so fun...

make-up is for fun just as it is for beauty.....have more fun...life is to short to put the same make-up on the same way, everyday....
and life is too short to forget to play.
Invite your creativity to come out and run wild.
life is too short to only do things that "make sense" all the time
life is too short to only wear things that are "practical"....

today I invite you and your creativity to come out and play...don't make sense, don't be logical, don't try to please anyone...just have fun...
huge hugs for you and every creative thought that you have....
i love you and all the illogical-ness that makes dreams comes true

You always know what to say Kandee! Loved it I always wished I had parents like you:) your words warm my heart. You've encouraged me in ways you'll never know I might not be where I am in life if it wasn't for you. Now you've encouraged me to spread the kandee message of love and hopefulness, forgiveness and determination. You always tell us that "if no one has said it today I love you and I'm cheering for you" well kandee of no one has told you today I love you:D and in cheering you on! And we've for your back Kandee :) also I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on the leather cuff? I've been desperate for one for sooo long:) love all the way from Glasgow Scotland -Gaby xxxxx

Hey Kandee, I adore watching your videos and reading your blog! Will you do Leighton Meester's make up look from the Gossip Girl episode last night 'I am number 9'? It was when she was wearing the red dress and it was really beautiful with grayish eyeshadow, long lashes, great cheek color and amazing redish lips. You are awesome and I know if anyone could do it, it would be you! Thanks!

Hi kandee. With a couple different feather colors this could be a bird of paradise costume. Love it!
