Holiday Makeup Tutorial: EYE GLITTER

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Look!
It is GLITTER EYES, like no eyeshadow around!
This is my first collaboration video ever- which means I teamed up with another Youtube Guru to create a themed look together. And I teamed up with the person who is the very reason I started on youtube, my inspiration for starting my tutorials, Lauren Luke, or Panacea81, as she's known on Youtube.
Our CollAboration Theme:
A HOLIDAY INSPIRED LOOK

I went with an dazzling, Glue & Glitter look, of sparkly, twinkling, gold on the eyes.
And a few lip color options.
(earrings: from a vintage-costume store on Melrose in Hollywood, Silver Sweater: from Zara)

Now let's go have some fun and "tutorial-it-up"! List of all the goodies I used below, too!
COME GET GLITTERY WITH ME IN THIS VIDEO:

What I used to get the look:
(For anyone who might have lighter skin than me, you can use more silver-gold, or whiter pearl color on the eyes too!)
*Any gold or shimmer paint pot, cream shadow, or I used, the BEN NYE GOLD SHIMMER STICK CRAYON
*Any light pearly, gold shimmer for under the brow bown. I used NAKED LUNCH from MAC.
*Any medium light  gold eyeshadow, I used CHASE from the Urban Decay 15 YEAR Palette
*Any bright gold shimmery eyeshadow for the base color under the glitter.
*Any dark bronzey-gold brown eyeshadow to emphasize the crease area. If you don't have a crease, just shade this in with the shadow to create a "crease illusion" . I used DARKHORSE and SMOG from the Naked Palette from Urban Decay.

GLITTER & GLUE:
*Apply the eyelash glue onto the lid: I used the Eyelash Glue from Urban Decay, because it goes on less clumpy and stringy than the DUO eyelash glue. And I like that it dries clear instead of whitish.
(and ofcourse it's safe to use on your lid, because it was designed to go on your eyes.)
*Then pat the cosmetic grade glitter onto the glue with a not-so-fluffy brush. MAC, BEN NYE, and GRAFTOBIAN all make cosmetic grade glitter to use on the eyes, as well as the URBAN DECAY Glitter I used from their glitter tattoo set.

EYELINER & LASHES:
*I lined the inner rims of the eyes with my favorite black eyeliner, SMOLDER from MAC.
*Any black Liquid Liner- I used the Penultimate Liquid Eyeliner from MAC in Rapid Black.
*Any black eyeshadow- I used the black from my BEN NYE Glamour palette, it's even darker and "blacker" than Carbon from MAC, over the liquid liner.
*Any blackMascara- I used the Super Curling Mascara from Urban Decay.
*Any demi-wispie fake lashes. I used the TEASE lashes from Urban Decay.

And you can watch the video for all the different lip options!

You cannot stop staring at the glitter on the eyes! It's amazing! And I show how to do, and how to get it off in the video too!

And here is Lauren Luke's "Christmas Collaboration" with me- she's so adorable, you just can't help but fall in love with her "adorableness"-

Stay tuned for the GLITTER LIPS tutorial too for the holiday!
glittery hugs..well no because that sounds messy...just hugs, kandee

Get Ready for Glam Rock: Ziggy Stardust Make-Up

long before Lady Gaga had her lighting bolt....Ziggy Stardust was inspired by Elvis Presley's Taking Care of Business ring, which had lighting bolts on both sides:
and when they were in the studio, they saw a rice cooker with the lighting bolt and DAvid Bowie's male-up artist, Pierre LaRoche replicated it's color and design onto David Bowie's face.
So now I present, my GLAM-take on David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust look!

I had 2 wigs, one red and one more orange....neither one looked good with the red color on the face...so I went with an EVEN more GLAM....hot pink!!!
Come to GLAM ROCK town with me to get the iconic, David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust make-up, from his famous 1973 (long before I was even born), Aladdin Sane album.

WHAT I USED:

*And I'm so excited because I have been a fan of Urban Decay for 15 years, when they first came out!  So this year when invited me too be featured on their website with my  costume looks, I was so excited! They did not pay me for this, but they did  offer to send me anything, I don't already own (ha ha ha) to complete the looks, I was so excited!!!
I want you guys to know....I WILL NOT do any paid reviews, product placements, or post. I will only do video and post about things I REALLY love.
I've been a die-hard Urban Decay fan for years and have been using them in my videos for years- and have never been paid to do so.

FACE:
Face Primer- I used URBAN DECAY BRIGHTENTING primer
Any light foundation you have
Eyeshadow Primer- I used Urban Decay Shadow Priming Potion
Highlighting Pencil -which I just used a concealer pencil from Urban Decay in  CIA
Dark Contour color- I used a professional palette from BEN NYE Pro Foundation Palette in Au Laite
i shaded and contoured the face to match his photo- with a dark hot pink eyeshadow (I used Woodstock from Urban Decay)

*David Bowie used lots of rice blotting powder - which I couldn't find in my house, so I just used the De-Slick Mattifying Powder from Urban Decay.

FOR THE LIGHTING BOLT:
Tape to mask off the lighting bolt area
I used cool red lipstick to fill in the lighting bolt- I used REVOLUTION from Urban Decay
dabbed Woodstock hot pink shadow over the top
BLUE line on the side of the lighting bolt- I used RADIUM 24/7 liquid liner pen from Urban Decay
I drew in a black line between the blue and hot link in a black liner too

ZIGGY LIPS:
I just swiped on the same REVOLUTION lipstick
then made it lighter and more coral-y like his picture with PARANOID lipliner from Urban Decay

NAILS:

There is actually a nail polish called ZIGGY in the HOLIDAY POLISH SET Urban Decay's , it's the same color I wore on my nails at the Emmy's...it's amazing!

TO MAKE IT LAST:
USE A FINISHING SPRAY TO MAKE SURE YOUR LIGHTING BOLT DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE!
For a finishing spray you can find anywhere: use ALL-NIGHTER from URBAN DECAY
For a professional finisher: try MODEL IN A BOTTLE

ZIGGY STARDUST WIGS:
I tried 2, one that was red and the orange one looked a little better:
They are from: MYCOSTUMEWIGS.com CLICK HERE FOR THE ZIGGY WIG PAGE

Now let's get all Ziggy and Wiggy..come watch the tutorial-

Hope you like my "glam take" on Ziggy Stardust! You can feel like a glam-rock star too! hee hee
hugs and lighting bolts of glamtastic-ness...your kandee

Glamour Magazine's: Kandee does Katy Perry Make-Up Look

I was so excited I was inside the September issue of Glamour Magazine....
I forgot to tell you guys they have a special "Glamour Kandee Exclusive Make-Up Tutorial Video"!

Glamour asked me to create a special look for them...and I was inspired by this sultry look that Katy Perry had here:
(please note I could not replicate her soft lighting..mine came out a little more harsh and shadowy, photo lighting is not my forte....but you'll see in the video  I wasn't standing in direct sun light....like in my picture...ha ha ha)
-Katy Perry's make-up always includes her classic black pin-up eyeliner, but this look is softened my the golden-taupey shadow
-and there is always something both delicate and a little sexy about a pale nude pair of soup-coolers (aka lips)

So have fun watching this "you-won't-see-this-on-youtube" make-up tutorial!
Yeah! Yeah it's make-up time!

OR CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT ON GLAMOUR.com and you'll get to read the article that they wrote for the Glamour website about yours truly!

lots of love and heaps of GLAMOUR....your kandee
