Birthday Sneek Peek Surprise!

my birthday...is less than a month away...
and  I'm not as excited about my birthday as I was when I was 9, but my friend Aarin, who owns iviscents had a huge surprise for my birthday!

here's the exciting part!!!!
She knows how I love cupcakes and vanilla...
so for my birthday she said she was going to create a "Kandee's Cake Birthday" scented collection (soap, body butter and body scrub!) and I could help pick the scent!
it's smells sooooo yummy....just like vanilla cake! I want to eat it!
I was so excited and honored that she would do that, because I love all her iviscent goodies...and they don't have any:

It's summertime....time to crank up the heat for your lip color too!

Don't just let your nude lip color blend in with the sand on the beach....

let your pretty pout be brighter than your pink bikini....

or in my case...if I get in a bikini this summer I will wear the brightest lipcolor to distract from any of my "bikini imperfections"! ha ha ha

*why I love it: it's an natural lip color

THIS COLOR WILL WORK ON ALL SKINTONES! It is a cool color but the lipliner adds more warmth. I did a Rachel Roy fashion show and we used a similar color on all the models, who had all different skin tones - from pale to the deepest richest skin colors...looked amazing on every single girl!

without a lipliner, colors just look flat and lips can look smaller....

think of it like if you just put eyeshadow on and no eyeliner...

it's like that if you just put lip color on without liner!

Are you ready for some cloud-spiration!?!

the other day I walking to the living room... and this sunset "treat-for-eyes" stopped me in my steps and made me run for my camera, so I could share this with you guys!

(nevermind that I stepped in rabbit poop as I walked away)

 But I started thinking about how the sunset doesn't look like this without the clouds. It's just plain and grey.
BUT....with the clouds, the sun has something to soak up and reflect and this beautiful color and light.

And that is how our lives are too!
 "without the clouds in our life, we wouldn't have beautiful sunsets of inspiration and beauty!"


no matter what is going on in your life:
relationship problems
heartbreak
loss
financial troubles
feelings of hopelessness

loneliness

feeling out of control

family problems

Be encouraged by these stories of "storm clouds" in people's lives, that have really been beautiful sunsets of opportunity just waiting for the sun to go down to make them shine.

A single and broke mama, who started making and selling sandwiches out of her home because she suffered from Agoraphobia...went from a former bank teller to cook at a Best Western Hotel...to the now famous, Paula Deen with a cooking empire. And she found her true love and soul mate along the way!

Paula Deen suffered a lot of the things on the list....

but she didn't give up...

she didn't say.."oh now I'm so alone!"...

she didn't say now I don't have a husband...I can't make it.

she didn't say...now I don't have a job, we're going to be homeless.

NO!

she put on her big girl pants...

realized what she loved....COOKING...

and found a way to start doing what she loved...

USE WHAT YOU GOT:

she had a kitchen..

she had skills

she had a desire
she had to do something because she only had $200 to her name

she had fear of leaving her house...but that didn't stop her.

and now she has become successful because of every STORM CLOUD in her life that made the sun shine a beautiful sunset of success!

AND ALL THOSE CLOUDS made for the most beautiful sunset in her life every day!!!

SO today...rejoice for the clouds...they are bringing a beautiful sunset for you!

God has  a beautiful sunset waiting to sparkle success in your life....let's just be thankful for the clouds that are going to make out sunset amazing!!!

Color changing table and chairs!

Get ready....because although it seems I have forgotten about my inner Do-it-yourself-er...
she (meaning me) is about to launch back into...(don't worry beauty tips & tricks and fun stuff is still on the way too) some SUPER FUN DIY projects!

Why did I forget about these fun things....I just got so busy in make-up world I forgot! ha ha

So...in the picture above...you see my old table and chairs that my dad gave me, that he got a thrift store. Well they were disgustingly ugly...poop wood brown color...the chair had 2 layers of different smoke-scented and hideous floral fabric upholstered on em!

UNTIL I painted the table black, spray painted the chairs gold and re-upholstered them with a black and white damask and striped fabric shower curtains.


Well....I was tired of that so I've re-done them again...and this time I'm gonna show you how to re-upholster chairs..it's super fun and easy!

Turning my sister into Kandee!

If you aswered..."your sister!"....and DING DING DING...you were right!

 
No one makes me laugh as hard or brings out my super-silly-ness as my sister. I can only say that if you have a sister...you know what I'm talking about. We've grown up with each other's sense of humor...and whether we're in a grocery store or making a video...my sister can crack me up!

So when she was still at my house....insert sad face....she lives like 9 hours from me, we thought it'd be funny to make her "look" like me.

The Coolest No-Polish Nail Polish with a twist!

 Be the envy...of everyone with fingernails, around you...with this awesome "no polish" finger nail art!
I've been wanting to try those "finger nail sticker" polish strips...so finally on my way to the check out at Target...I picked up a Houndstooth and Glitter set of  the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Polish Strips

...to  try these out and create this fun twist!

MY TAKE ON THE POLISH STRIPS:
*super fun and looks so much cooler than regular polish
*the box said it last 10 days, but mine didn't last that long...but I'm really hard on my nails. They did last wayyy longer than normal nail polish though.
*They come off really easily when I removed them. I just pulled them off after a few days, I didn't even need polish remover.
*they seemed pricey at about $8 a box with 16 strips inside...BUT since my nails are not super long....I would cut one strip in half and use the other on the opposite hand that fit that finger size! More BANG for your polish buck!

I wanted to add something different to these...so I cut one finger into a diagonal angle and matched up another piece to give a little fun unique somethin'-somethin' to this look!

I got so many compliments on these...and to tell you the truth, I think this is my favorite "nail polish" I've ever had...everytime I would put my hand on something....I'd just look at my nails a few seconds and think "these are so cool!"

The World's Largest Make-Up Show!

 IMATS! You-MATS! We-ALL-MATS-together!

Yes...I will be at the BIGGEST IMATS (International Make-Up Artist Trade Show) in Los Angeles!

The LA IMATS is the largest make-up show of it's kind, in the world!!!

It's June 25 & 26 in Pasadena, California.

I will be there  on SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! (read that in your Monster Truck Announcer voice!)

ANYONE CAN COME...you do not need to be a pro make-up artist. 
Although they do have a special PRO only night now.

I have been invited to speak on:

 SUNDAY, June 26th at 2:45pm

 on the mainstage. 

 When I spoke at IMATS in Toronto they ran out of seats and some people couldn't see or they were standing so far they couldn't hear...so if you're coming, get there early to get a seat.

I don't think I'll be at IMATS on Saturday....but for sure on Sunday!
I am still trying to see if we can do a meet and greet. I'm not sure because the line was so long at the Toronto IMATS, some people waited in line over 4 hours to say hi and get a picture...and I felt so bad people were standing that long.

IMATS is so fun! I've been going for years...you get crazy deals and discounts up to %40 off on some of my favorite brands.

Make-Up Forever, Ben Nye, NYX, Graftobian, MAC, Dinair, Kryolan, Model In A Bottle, Naimie's, Alcone...Zuca Bags always has crazy deals. The Crown Brush booth is always insanely busy...that's where I got my first, and awesome flat chisel brush for contouring the cheekbones ...at IMATS years ago.
