Yesterday I started the day out like this...with my regular old, thinny thin thin hair...looking all not-so-good...well I was pretending to try out the CUPCAKE ATM outside Sprinkles...
yes I ate 4 red velvets all by myself...
I'm not joking...this is real.
Then at night time....it was time to get down to hair chopping....

Joseph Marzioli- who works at Toni & Guy at the Irvine Spectrum, came and chopped my hair on the floor like this:
and after.....I LOVE my new hair.....!!!!!! I love it and I think I want to go shorter, but this is a good stylish start! I love it. It's more edgy, styled and I realized just how much I've missed having short hair!
I'll try to take some better pics....and I even filmed it!
I'm so excited..I'm typing this from the plane....we are on our way to Sundance in Park City! I am so excited and honored that I've been invited to come and cover the beauty scene at the famous Sundance Film Festival.....
I'd type more but we are about to land and I gotta shut this baby down!
My make-up, hair and outfit-of-the-day, looked a lil' something like this. And yes, I am officialy wearing my "Red Velvet" lip everyday....I can't help it, people ask how my teeth are so white, what color I'm wearing, and the color makes me happy....If you missed it, I'll post the video below (again)...
As I already told you guys....this week is a crazy flying everywhere week...this is what my suitcase looked like....with shoes....I love those Turquoise (the only Jessica Simpson thing I own), but you can't even stand in em for a minute, so they came out of the suitcase...who knows what I'm gonna wear to my friends wedding!

What's a delicious looking as a slice of Red Velvet cake....but calorie free?!? RED VELVET LIPS!
They are a a deep, velvety, matte red...that is not your average red lip...and I didn't use one lipstick to create this look!
and everyone asked what lipstick I was wearing, and since it's not even lipstick, I do what I do...well not, best, but I do what I do....I made you a tutorial:
To get this red velvet mouth, I just used lip liners and blush!
WHAT I USED: CHERRY LIPLINER from MAC (In my opinion, the best shade of red ever!)- a cool red lipliner, that makes your teeth look whiter...who doesn't love that! CHESTNUT LIP LINER from MAC (it's a deep brown that when mixed with Cherry, gives that amazing depth!)
And finished off with MAKE-UP FOREVER RED BLUSH IN SCARLET #99

And this cool red, will look great on all skin tones. It's almost as classic as a black eyeliner...looks great in everyone!
Here's my drugstore dupes, but I was not impressed with the brown lipliner options, and there was no option for the Make-Up Forever blush...

I wanted to keep ol' ring finger wild with a little leopard print nail design.
(I had the lady at the nail place do it, but it was hard because I kinda wanted to just grab the polish and do it myself...ha ha ha- it just takes me forever to do the gel polish myself, so I went to my local nail place to have a speedy version done! They were all OPI gel polishes)
And then over the weekend I wanted to do a lil' video background make-over!
So I hung up more twinkly lights, than I already had up.
I used all my "candy" decorations from Christmas...and some other random cake stands, glass candy jars with colored tulle inside, and my disco balls (that I got at Home Goods)...
I just think twinkly light make everything look enchanting, glowy, ethereal, and just cozy and if a lighting was yummy, this would be it!
I love these little cupcake ornaments that were an awesome gift....and my giant letter "K", I think I got at Marshalls or Ross a long time ago....it's just been hanging in my laundry room...but who hangs out for too long in a laundry room.
And I filmed a make-up tutorial with this new twinkly-ness last night...I'm gonna go edit, do more laundry, and pack because this week I have a crazy schedule- but hooray I get to leave the house adn go somewhere! ha ha ha
I'm gonna be heading to Sundance to show you guys what it's like there, at the gifting and suites and the L'Oreal and Entertainment Weekly beauty suite! We will get to see what all the movie stars get to see there.
Then I'll be heading to one of my best friends wedding in Seattle, then flying back to LA, for a meet and greet at IMATS on Sunday!

(who is so excited, because I feel like most of the time I don't go anywhere exciting...unless you consider my trip to Rite-Aid last night exciting....I did have lots of fun trying to find dupes for my MAC lipliners to show you guys! sort of had success)

Some days I have down days, and by down, I don't mean curling up on the couch and watching You've Got Mail, and eating a pint of ice cream, I mean days that I just feel discouraged.
Somedays I just wonder why if anyone like what I blog about.
I don't have a team of people that take pictures of me to post.
I am the only one that edits my videos.
I don't have an assistant running around carrying my purse or Starbucks, or sending out tweets for me like other girls.
(and if anyone needed an assistant I would..ha ha ha, with 4 kids)

The world of fashion and beauty bloggers is not really a beautiful place.
I've encountered some of the most unkind people in the "beauty" and "fashion" world.
But this is like life. Sometimes there are people in this world that only get their value by, buying expensive things, by showing off, by trying to make themselves feel cool, by trying to seem as rich as they can, showing off their cars....you get the idea.
I think reality tv has glorified all the wrong things in life....just getting rich, getting into fights, drama, drama and more drama. I can't even stand watching tv sometimes because it just makes you feel bad, disgusted, or like you will never have enough money to ever live like any of these people, or it ust makes me upset seeing people arguing and fighting.
Why can't someone in tv put shows on tv that are inspiring, show people being awesome and kind, and fun...no fighting, no drama.

I just want you guys to know that if you have a "down" day, you are going through a "down" time, you are around people or are in a relationship where the person makes you feel "down".....

I don't care if you are no where near living like a reality tv star.
And if no one has told you today, know that I love you, I think you're amazing, you don't need anything fancy to be cool or stylish.
I think the most stylish people are the ones that don't buy all the expensive stuff...you are more creative when you have to make or hunt for cool treasures anyway.
Great style can't be bought with a price tag...I've seen the most stylish people that don't have one brand name anything on.
I think you are incredible right where you are.
Exactly how you are.
And exactly who you are.
Know that if you have down days too...you're not alone.

It's time for Throwback Thursday and I've got a special guest...my mama!
Here was me, my crazy blonde hair that was growing out because I was preggie...and my MAMA!
My moms hair was soooooooo long!!! (this is when I was pregnant with Alani, so it was almost 8 years ago!)
And then even more "throwback" than that....this was me and my mama, a couple years before that!
My hair was shorter and hers was curlier...ha ha ha
A huge thank you to my mom, for one: having me and always being such an awesome, loving mama and for two: for unknowingly letting me feature her in my "throwback thursday post"...hee hee hee
