Jewelry Style Steal Report: Hip-Hot for Fall

ready to add some zazzle to your fall wardrobe...(yeah, I know it's still hot...but so are these urban-edgy-hip-hop-tastic" accessories...
I love the tough yet chic big chain link bracelet and yes, an awesome pair of gold bamboo earring (these aren't my first pair of bamboozlers either, I lost one a while ago, so these are replacements)
You could wear em al funky downtown or pair with a colorful flowing top for an exotic golden glow.

Inspiration: Michael Kors has this awesome gold chain link necklace that I love...but it 's about $690 over my $10 budget for necklaces...oh but just look at it:
(dear Michael Kors...you not only have the most amazing necklace...but your "RUNWAY" watch...is so fanta fanta fantastylistically, timeless, trendless, just a masterpiece, statement of a watch! I heart it more than cheesecake, which I heart a lot.
my budget looks more like Forever 21 finds...yep I got them all at F21, baby...nothin' over $6.80! see:
bamboo hoop earrings: $3.80
silver chain link necklace & jade and purple gold horn necklace: (each) $6.80

I'm off to pack up all my wardrobe goodies..and sleep for like 2 hours, then wake up and head to the airport to go work on a tv show...but yay, I'll be getting up early and trying to get ready before baby wakes up..then trying to get all the baby gear ready to go too!...I'm gonna need to spackle on concealer under my eyes- so the rings under my eyes don't show! ha ha ha

off to go to bed, er I mean, take a nap...ha ha ha
bling-a-ding-ding.... i love you more than all the diamonds in the world, Kandee

things i text my sister

hot off my iphone, texting to my sister: (our "textversations" are always pretty funny...at least we think so...ha ha ha)
me making the "Zoolander" face wearing my "shiny, shiny, (gold) disco ball" jacket I was trying on for the first time...
In case your wondering/dying to know: I got this hot number for $8.50 at the thrift store last week.

At first I thought : "oh my hideous jacket!"....and the more it sparkled, the more it seemed that I was shot with the Fashion Cupid's arrow...and I kinda blurted: "I kinda love it?!"

My crafting yesterday was kind of a  bust.
*the leather cuff I tried to make didn't work out- the snaps I bought were awful- once you snapped them you couldn't pry them apart
*the earrings I tried to make...well, I lost the one when I went scavenger hunting for other craft and paint essentials I needed
*I only have one of the shoes that I was working on finished and I'm too tired to stay up and work on the other on (it's 2:23am)- and tomorrow I have to get up at about 3am to leave- so I think I might have to scratch the shoe idea.
*and the shirt I was going to make...well I just started it and it was all wrong!
ha ha ha ha ha ha.....
This will be a fun surprise to see what outfits I can pull together!

It was a craft-disaster...
the only thing I successfully did was MAKE A HUGE CRAFT MESS!

aww well....better crafts next time!
sparkly gold jackets that look like disco balls and a huge mess of craft stuff everywhere... your kandee

Crafting Saturday

this is what my kitchen table looks like...
I need to make a "kan-tastic" outfit for myself...

I will be waking up at the crack-of-darkness (yes complete with my entourage of mommyness) to fly out to work on a tv show, Monday morning or I should say, more like "not long after midnight on Sunday..."

And instead of me putting make-up on people that will be on tv...I get to just put make-up on myself! Because I get to be in front of the camera! (insert me cartwheeling all over my yard) I'll tell you more about it later, when I can talk about it! yay-sicles!

Anyway...I have to come up with some outfits for myself-
enter crafting saturday:
I have craft supplies
Fabric
Thrift store finds waiting to be transformed
I will show you my DIY wonders (if they come out like I plan!)

off to start cutting, gluing, and creating (yay!)....
running with scissors and glue guns....your kandee

The BEST, Dirty Hair Secret: Dry Shampoo

Don't you just wish your hair was wig-perfect everyday...
you could count on it to look a certain way. Truth is...hair is wild one day, cute then next- but you don't know what you did...
or maybe the trick is that hair always looks great when it's "one-day-old-dirty"...yep, right when you are about to climb in the shower and your bangs and face framing fringe are falling at the perfect angle, you have volume right in the places you like...it's time to get it sudsy because you're getting in the shower!
what's a head of hair gotta do to have cute hair?!?
You want the secrets of a celeb hair stylist, like my friend, Mr. Kim Vo...
and why he says, especially if you color treat your hair, do NOT wash everyday.
(well, unless you work somewhere or do things that make your hair stink or sweat....like you are an aerobics instructor or a you are a swimming instructor...then I don't know what to tell ya)
(Kim and Me...and my face looks particularly extra chubby here...love those kinds of pictures)...
Think of it like powdering your face when it gets oily...but it's like powdering your hair!
or like I used to do in High School...use baby powder at the roots to absorb any excess oil and give your hair a volumizing boost.

WHAT I LOVE:
(whew, say that 5 times real fast)

and if you think you'd like to try the "old school" hair powder shampoo, Oscar Blandi makes this too:
I know there are other Dry Shampoos out there and I've tried some others...but this is my favorite..and it's what's actually under my bathroom sink...and what I take with me when I travel.

love me some day old-but shampoo sprayed hair....
the cleanest, dirty hair you'll ever have....kandee

GET READY TO COME HANG OUT WITH ME In  HAIR TIP world.
Get cozy, get a snack, a hair brush...whatever, and come hang out with me in this video:

PS. I don't like washing, conditioning and then blow drying and then flat ironing (this all takes so long) and then crimping....(ok so I don't crimp my hair but it sounded fun)

obsessions: shiny, sparkle, colorful and gooooold!

Please tell me how much you love this, too..... I want one of these garland's from CONFETTI SYSTEM all over the place....I just wish they had less zero's on their price tag. I'd say I'll do a  DIY project out of this but I have no clue where to get the metallic foil. Maybe if I was a cheerleader and had tons of pom poms....hmmmm
like glitter nail polish for your gams (yeah, that's an antique name for legs)...
I wish I owned these shiny, sparkly, glitter pants from ALEXANDER WANG! (don't get sad if these pants are  totally out of our budgets- it's like window shopping...we are "computer window-loving-these")
I'd also like it if my legs looked like that too....ha ha ha
side note: I am not a particular fan of wearing your leggings without something covering the crotch area....I need not say the "name" that refers to-the-possible problem that can arise...hint: it has to do with an animal that lives in the desert that has humps...and "that" term grosses me out.

I am still loving these gold pants (If these don't say: "grocery shopping in these will be so glamorous"...ha hah a) I saw on the ChaserBrand site..they don't sell them. But I did find some at American Apparel, and Forever21 had some bargain gold legging babies, but only in miniature sizes that would not hold in all my junkulous in my trunkulous, if you know wha' I'm sayin'.
I heart this watch....my sister owns it, and even though I typically am a "silver" girl......when I saw her with it..(it was her anniversary or birthday or Christmas present, I think)...I was like, "what the watch?! is on your wrist...I luuuuuuuv it!"....it's got a manly, tough "i mean business" look, yet somehow so feminine and chic...it is on my "dream-watch-list"... MICHAEL KORS makes this glam time piece...
oh "watch drool", just dripped on my keyboard....

If you had a "rap-star-video" like pile of money next to you...which one of these would you splurge on?

I might just wear that garland around like a scarf or shawl....

fists full glitter in the air and while we're "window-shopping-internet style"....I'm sending you a window shopping slice of cheesecake to enjoy too... i heart you more than all this stuff on the page, kandee

SHOES: "What the Heel Lita?"

(source: VOGUE)
okay...to tell you the truth...
the first time I saw the "Lita" shoe by Jeffrey Campbell I thought....
"what the ugly grama shoe-meets stripper shoe is that?!?"
...and then  months ago:
In a land called Hollywood
on a street called Melrose
in a Vintage store....
I saw a girl wearing a deep red pair of Lita's...with black leggings, long black hangy top, funky jewelry and a cool bag....
and I asked, "Excuse me? Wear did you get your shoes?"....
She said, "Oh, a store on Robertson, they're the Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoes"....
I thanked her, complimented her on her cool outfit and continued to buy these glasses for $10:
(hey, hey, hey)

And I thought to myself: "Hey, I thought those shoes were ugly until now that I see them  with my own eyeballs"....
"What the HEEL?!?"

So I do NOT own a pair....but if I did.....
these babies are kinda fun...
I'm still trying to figure out if I love them....
or of I just wanna keep on saying:
"what the heel?"
OR rather:
"What the TOE-area?!?"

What do you think?
Do you LOVE em' or LOATHE em?

Heel-toe-so-si-do... i love you more than shoes, kandee

Love for London...

London was not what I thought it to be in my head....
(you know when you imagine something in your mind and then it's nothing like what you thought up at all?)
it was 896,034 times better.

I have been so blessed with being able to have been there twice....
last year (yes, above in my "super-touristy"- "look, I'm in a British-little-red-phone-booth" picture...
and once years before when I had short and very platinum, Marilyn Monroe -ish hair:
My heart was so sad to see the fires and looting in London on the internet today...and all the awful things that people were doing to stores and endangering people's lives by starting fires and tossing "homemade bombs" into cars and buildings...and all the looting.
(building set on fire in London)
People who have spent their lives running shops that are now burnt down and emptied of their goods by looters, children, probably terrified by what's happening, and the trail of destruction and hurt they are causing to innocent people and places...
makes me so sad...

(a looter kicking a window in, in London)

I've never understood why anyone thinks "rioting or looting" helps solve anything. Like in LA, the Lakers win the basketball championship or whatever it's called and instead of being happy like normal people and celebrating, people start smashing windows, throwing rocks at buses, looting, starting fires! Why take any reason, whether good or bad and start ruining other people's property, starting fires and then looting- which is just stealing. Trying to hurt people by throwing rocks or whatever else people start doing. Or if you are upset with something, rioting and looting and starting fires is not going to solve or help anything, it's just going to ruin many people's lives, homes and livelihoods.
"fools vent their full anger at once, but a wise man is calm in heart"
(my blurry, "artsy" picture of Big Ben)
London is an amazing, beautiful city that I don't even have proper words to describe it,
filled with wonderful people...
my heart goes out to everyone there....I am praying for you all there.

I love London. I felt like my life grew a little bit larger to hold onto what you feel like when you are there. Like you stepped back into a history book, a movie, a piece of time that felt royal, fancy and dripping with stories of amazing things. Like the cloppity sounds of walking on the sidewalks there felt different than anywhere else.

I am sending huge love from my heart to all my precious London eyes reading this...
and to all the precious eyes, everywhere else too...
I wish we could have a lovely afternoon tea together and all feel fancy....
if not for real...we can have a grand "tea in our minds" right now....
"would you like sugar in your tea?"...
sugar for your heart and prayers for all of London...kandee
