a spoon full of sugar...

or a fork full of cake...
or a straw full of milkshake...
(hey, I even rhymed!)...
helps the medicine go down!
I made a request to go to MILK (a super good bakery in LA), on Beverly Blvd, next to El Coyote...
they have a blue velvet cake (red velvet is so last year..ha ha ha)...
I have been talking about getting this cake for so long....and then the I saw the milkshakes....!
A Coffee Toffee Crunch milkshake....the girl suggested I get the shake instead! (I'll eat you one day, my dear Blue Velvet Cake!)
It was delish!
Sometimes when I have a bad day, as "bad" as it might seem, a spoonfull of "sugar" does help...your sugar could be a movie, a cookie, a good magazine, a good talk with a friend, or like mine, was every night in the hotel, a slice of Creme Brulle cheesecake with berries and mascarpone cream...oh my heaven!
Sometimes we don't always have good days, and we don't know, or question why "un-good" things happen...
well, the sooner we realize that we can't back in time and undo things...that now we just make the best of what we've go, the better we'll be!

Right after my leg accident, I was thinking...well at least I have my leg, I can't go back in time and remove what happened...so now I'll just make the best of it! At least it didn't slice off half my face!

As for asking, "why did this happen?"...well I think that question just wastes time from getting your thoughts back on the right track. We'll never know why bad things happen...this isn't Heaven, where things are perfect...this is in imperfect world...if it were perfect we'd never get old and die! Imperfect, unjust things happen every day. The sooner we take those "bad happenings", let them make us stronger, let them help encourage others who are going through the same thing...later we realize how those bad things,  really caused some good.
I do want to pray for all the little babies and children that are hurting and scared, and in pain. They don't understand what's going on, I just pray that they would be comforted by angels hands when no human ones are around, that they're little hearts and minds would be filled with peace and strength! I would take the pain away from little ones, any day, if I could transfer it to me!

MISSION OF THE DAY: Today lets hunt for things to be happy about!

My happy-about list:
that I still have my leg
that I can see and hear
that I have all my little precious babies...
that I have you all
that I have people that love me
that the sun is shining, and I can hear birds tweeting outside my window
that I will be back to normal one day...hooray!!!

huge love, your kandee

I like to exercise as a pick-me-up when I'm down because endorphens from working out will make me feel good and because it will help me stay healthy in the future, which is another reason to be happy!

hi kandee

the other day, all my makeup got stolen (i was doing a small makeup gig for a friend, and myself, we were going out), and, someone broke into my car, and just took everything, except the car.

it's so funny, how they would take my purse, all my makeup bags, but leave the car. the keys were still in it...

and now, i'm without a credit card, without any money, and makeup, but at least no one was hurt.

so, i'm glad i could at least have your encouraging words to help. it's hard, but we'll get through it all.
XOXOXO

You are a wise woman Kandee. So many people live in the past. All you can do is look forward. We can use these "bad things" to examine ourselves and our lives to see what God has planned for us. I hope you feel better. I can't believe you're already out and about. We have an awesome bakery where I live called the "Homemade Pie & Ice Cream Kitchen". My favorite is the Carmel apple dutch pie! Yum!

Knowing that EVERYTHING happens for a reason automatically suggests that there IS good in everything, even when we don't see it. Everything that doesn't make sense right now, WILL one day (Romans 8:28). I hope your recovery is lightning fast! :)

Hi Kandee,

Just to let you know, we're all thinking about you in my house (even my Dad, who does not care about make up, but sees all his girls in the house watch your videos on the computer.)

I wanted to share with you that I am in school to get my teaching credential to teach music to children. In one of my classes, each time we meet, we have CELEBRATIONS. We begin each class by going around the room and each person shares anything at all that was good that happened to them since the last time the class met. It always starts the class off on a fun, positive note and breaks down barriers between students.

Your post today reminded me of that. We all need to take more time to recognized the good and beauty in out lives.

Get well soon!

Just keep up your positive attitude, things will get better eventually. I had a car accident where I hurt my vertebrae and I couldn't get out of the bed for 2 months-I wanted to die! But, it healed and I got better after a while...the important thing is to appreciate the things you have and you'll make it! Besides, you are always so cheerful and very optimistic, so I'm sure getting through this will be a piece of cake of cake for you! Rock on, girl!

Here is a story of a little boy that might really loose his little legs.
Please post and keep him in your prayers. He is very brave and his story has really left our little town heartbroken..

Thank you Kandee! My doggy is in a lot of pain today...A layer of his little paw pads wore right off from a hike yesterday. He is my only baby, and it is so hearbreaking right now to see him limpin around, but I am doing everything I can to help him heal quick, so one day at a time, he will get better and better! I have been real sad all day but I am going to cry it out now so that I can enjoy the rest of my day and hang out with my doggy when I get home and just show him how much I love him. Your words help me realize that though nothing is perfect, it isn't the end of the world, and I am going to do the best I can to make the rest of it great!

Your optimism is so inspirational! You are such a trooper with your leg and UGH!?!? I get down about the tiniest things sometimes and I really find it difficult to think about what went right in my day. Your words are so gentle and kind, thank you for helping me recognize that little set backs and inconsistencies in life don't matter so much! You are in my prayers for a quick recovery. :D

REVELATION 21:3-4
"With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away"

yes Kandee you are so right, all things happen for a reason, and all bad things lead to good things, only that not everyone can see that, only the people that open up their hearts and minds, like you do. I can give you only one answer (there are probably many more) to the *why did it happen?* question when wondering about your leg accident. It happened because chickens like me needed COURAGE! And seeing what happened to you and how you handled all with so much courage and with a smile and a joke to make fun of the bad things, definitely encouraged me and made me stronger! I will always think about you in this situation if I will ever be in pain. My biggest fearin life is of doctors and hospitals, because of some things that have happened in my childhood, but now there is hope! :) I love you and I hope you will get better SOON! Good luck! oxox Linda, from Germany

Mary Poppins knew what she was talking about! Sugar and prayers...they make everything better! You're in my prayers as you're on the mend. The great thing about blogging/journaling is that later on down the road you'll be able to look back and see the good that came from this situation, and also see how God has healed you. Have a fantastic day! Thanks for making mine better ;)
