I can't believe it! I'm going to the Emmy Awards!

I try to keep all my posts about my babies and "everyday life" on my www.kandeeland.com blog...but this was too precious...
this was us yesterday...trying to shop for things like a "fancy" purse that I need for today to go with me to the Emmy Awards, which are the big Hollywood awards for everything on the telly or aka tv.

I am so excited....I have always watched these shows on tv, wondering what it would be like to get to dressed up and be there touching your heels on the red carpet! And lil' ol' me gets to go!! I can't believe it! I am so excited!

This is such an amazing example of all the times I felt so sad because my life felt sad and painful and I couldn't see around the bend in the road that blessing were waiting...
I am so thankful...and God has truly blessed me... it's true he will give you "beauty for ashes"..he will give you blessings for all the hard things you've been through when you trust him with your heart!

I am so rejoicing...if I just could've told myself when I was sad and crying....far from the place I wanted to be, far from my career, far from being in a good relationship, far from being anywhere semi-close to any kind of red carpet....just watching these award shows on tv wondering what it would be like to be there!
I will be there...and you are all in my heart with me! If I could fit you all in my lil sparkly purse I got at the last minute...wait til you see it, you'll never believe how cheap it was! hee hee hee, I would!

I am so rejoicing and dancing the thankful dance for every lil and big blessing in my life! I try to never get all "religious" on you guys...but I just had to say publicly: "Thank you my Savior Jesus, you are the reason and the only reason I am able to be so happy and you are the one who has replaced all the hurt in my life with beautiful blessings!"

Please insert me dancing my happy dance!!! Yay, running around my me room to get ready for the Emmy's---I can't believe it! (screams of excitement!)

Can't wait to show you guys my dress and hair and everything!!!

Good Bye New York... hello Hollywood!

Fashion Week was a dream-dream-dream come true! I have soooo many pictures and videos from fashion week to upload, I don't even know where to start!

But today I am super excited because I have been invited to the Emmy Awards in LA...that is the big awards show for television. It is this Sunday...

Bonus side note: The 2- HOUR special of the show, HOW DO I LOOK Worst Dressed in America special, airs on Monday October 17^th @  9/8c
I am a special guest judge and the make-up artist that helps transform the make-overs! And HOW DO I LOOK is nominated for an Emmy!

Thank you everyone for being a part of my adventures...you all are with me in my heart! 

So I need a fancy dress...my plan of ordering a vintage dress from ebay -didn't go well- dress does not fit anywhere close to right. I'm going to hunt for a dress tomorrow...you need a fancy ball gown for the Emmys. And I don't have anything...so get ready to see me fancier than you've ever seen me before!

And I might even do something I never do.....
I might have my friend Priscilla Ono, do my make-up. I always do my own make-up...but I think it will be fun to see how she does my make-up!!! And she's has great style and is a celeb make-up artist that works on celebs like Paris Hilton and Rihanna....I think this will be so fun to see how she does my make-up!

I feel like a cool person this week....I can't believe all these blessings!...see, I told ya...God gives you beautiful blessings for all the ashes of heartache we experience in life...I am so thankful for every sparkle of goodness! I'm even thankful for the hard times I've had in life- they make me appreciate the blessings even more!

Speaking of no sleep...please watch what my tired brain (which was getting about 3 hours a night after blogging) comes up with instead of America's Next Top Model....I know this show, I've watched it for years, I love America's Next Top Model!! I know the name, I know he's on ANTM...

So stinkin' embarrassing...as soon as it came out of my mouth I thought,- "what just came out of your mouth, Kandee?"- I have no idea why I said project runway!

Good thing Nigel is sweet and we just laughed about it!


And as always...you will see me make at least 234 expressions with my face. Yeah, I know...I've been told for years that I am a "facial gymnast"! And no one needs to comment about the awful faces I made or how I stood there with my mouth open in amazement... I'm fully aware of how ugly that looked since I saw it! And I have been warned that I since I'm so "expressive" with my face and smile a lot, that I will have lots of wrinkles. That's great.
You may not even notice me at all...and might just be mesmerized by Nigel.

The craziest, most bedazzled and jeweled cell phone case

This was my "phones-down" most photographed thing....even an editor at TeenVogue tweeted about me and my DIY phone case!

 Bedazzled, bejewelled, be-fantastic phone with me in a taxi- I'm telling you this was the accessory of all accessories! This baby was being so photographed by magazines  and bloggers from all over the world that people would see me  and my phone again and tell me I need to start a fan page for my "Kandee Jeweled" phone!

She, (my phone) is delicate...and me running around dropping her in my purse, is in need of jewel repairs....but as my friend Emily, the beauty editor of Elle said: "can you imagine how happy a little girl will be finding one of those jewels on the sidewalk?"

I want to go buy bags of jewels to sprinkle on sidewalks to make people smile at the treasure-sparkle they'll find....

I am in the beauty closet of Elle Magazine! This is like every girls dream...to be in a room with almost every beauty product from polish to Dior lipgloss to perfume!

 if you could zoom in..you would see these green and blue bins with names like: Cle De Peau, Chanel, Dior and ofcourse MAC and every name you've ever thought of for make-up!

 this was just a sampling of the hair shelves....this wasn't even hair brushes, hair pastes or wigs!

I love Emily at Elle! She even let me pick out some things...I felt like I won a contest myself! Me picking some fun polish colors and almost having an overwhelmed-with-excitement attack! She held lil' Baby while I picked things out- and may I mention that she loved Emily too!

FINALE: taxi cab (make-up: a combo of make-up forever hot pink, orange and coral lipliners with similar shades of blush on lips for lip color, L'Oreal Invisilift foundation, Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Minx- a turquoise liner for just  colored wing, MAC Opulash mascara)...headed to the airport...

Hot Lips at the Betsey Johnson Runway Show

 The models marched down the runway at the Betsey Johnson (yes I got to be, not only backstage, but I got a seat to watch the show too...please insert my heart palpitations-more about what I saw later...

this color jumped in your eyes and screamed "hotness"...
what was it I needed and begged to know:
LIP COLOR: STILA LIP ENAMEL LUXE GLOSS in GIGGLE
this color was like a party for you eyes...it hollers, "FUN!!!!! We're gonna have a good time!"...
It was a plastic like gloss that glowed with neon hot pinkness. It was like a super high shine, glammy gloss-tasticness!
I tried to find where to get it online- sold out everywhere!

My friend and make-up artist, David Birdwell, applying some Giggle onto a models lips. Wait til you see everything I got from backstage tips, tricks and cool pics. Nikki Minaj was backstage and so were cupcakes and hot pink hair extensions for everyone backstage...I'm gonna show you it all, but I can barely keep my eyes open to type this. I asked Nigel Barker today how he handles the sleeplessness and he said, "Sleep is for amateurs!"....I laughed so hard.
If sleep is for amateurs than I'm an extreme professional at not sleeping.
I'm going to go dream of swimming in that Stila lip gloss...

My Fashion Week Sunday in Pictures

3:30-ish: Taking Taxi to Allure (magazine) Lounge near Lincoln Center where the big Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week stages are.
(some girls were kinda rude/snooty/snobby to me in there...

Right after the Diane Von Furstenberg show, I was trying to take a picture of Valentino when my camera battery died- I turned behind me and saw my friend Jill! We hugged forever...I haven't seen her since last year!

I finally got to meet Rocco Gaglioti of Fashion News Live outside the tents. We had been trying to connect for a while. He asked if I wanted to host for Fashion News Live- I said yes and got to interview Kelly Osbourne after the Zac Posen show. She looked beautiful with a 40's inspired updo-ponytail and a chic black dress with gold detail, gorgeous grey heels and the lightest, most delicate make-up. She looked amazing and was even sweeter in person than I've seen on tv.

then I was so excited all day because I was going to meet one of my favorite YouTube gurus: Bubzbeauty, who lives in Hong Kong, but was here for Fashion Week! I love her!!!
We have only messaged each other, so it was so great to meet her in person. She is lovely, adorable, so, so nice and we had a yummy dinner and she even got to hold Cupake.

Bubz, Wendy (from Wendy'sLookBook on youtube-she is such a sweetie-pie too, baby and me, and my friend Stephanie. I never get to have dinner with friends, so this was so fun! Best Beignets ever for dessert.
