Tales from the NY Subway

1. this was last August...it was so hot in the subway, sweat was running down our backs. The 90+ degree air felt cool when the doors of the subway would open up! TIP: for the love of others noses, please wear extra deodorant and few more spritzes of perfume!

2. Me and my friend ate at Balthazar in Soho and got yelled at for taking a picture inside! (Not nice
Balthazar, even though they did have really good frites or fries)

3. I got a manicure there with SUPER HOT PINK polish...which glowed! LOVED IT!!!!

4. May I remind you again, the power of smelling good! How I wish more people on the train smelled better, to stand next to! ha ha ha

5. I love the SUBWAY! My first try at a subway was in Hong Kong. I had no clue what the directions were, but somehow I always got where I needed to go! ha ha ha

6. DO NOT take pictures of "performers" in the SUBWAY! I just got my camera out to take a picture of this guy who was playing the drums on all these plastic buckets. (he was really good)...well, he didn't like it! HE started yelling, calling me names! We just hurried and got out of that little hallway! ha ha ha

7. only take goofy pictures in the subway when it's not crowded! ha ha ha otherwise you'll just annoy people! ha ha ha

have a fun day no matter what mode of transportation you are taking today! huge love and funny pictures, your kandee

That looks like so much fun! When I visit NY in the far far future, I'll make sure to take the subway and bring some nose plugs with me hahaha.

Kandee! I love the picture of you with your face turned to the side. so gorgeous. people pn subways scare me! I think I've only been on a subway once. But I don't live in the city so it doesn't matter! Keep up with the blogging, I like it! Also, here is a make up tutorial that I would like you to do. It is a pic of Scarlett Johansson. I'm not sure where this pic came from or why it appears that she is not wearing a bra under her shirt, but her make up is awesome! haha could you do like a big, pouty mouth and round eye scarlett johanssen look? like this: http://www.webwombat.com.au/lifestyle/fashion_beauty/images/johansson-8.jpg
thanks, kandee!

Oh, also, I have a question about your glaminars. Are you planning on continuing to do glaminars? I definitely would have wanted to go back in April but I have just discovered your blog.

I'm glad to hear that NYC's metro is similar to London's - they need to fix up some air con!

Your blog is great! I've been following for a while and started my own recently, it's www.clickandmake-up.blogspot.com

Hope you like it and share the love by following me too! ;)

I was on the LRT today (that's what we call the subway where I live) and I swear to god this old man sits right next to me, and it's as if he peed in a spray bottle, left it in the sun, and then decided it would be a good idea to drench himself in it and wash it off with month-old beer. He smelled SO bad. =( I had to put my nose nonchalantly into my shirt and try and smell my own perfume to mask his stench!

BTW Kandee your myspace doesn't let "bands" add you to their friends! This makes me sad! My myspace is technically a band myspace because I am a solo acoustic artist, so I can't friend you =(

Agreed on all points - but I didn't know pics were taboo at Balthazar... bah humbug, already! I hope you get back to NYC soon. PS: Fleet Week just ended and you'd love it! (kinda like Jack Sparrow without the beard)

Its great to hear you had fun. Its a shame here in australia the trains are getting more and more dangerous. I haven't been on one in about 14yrs!!!

That sounds like so much fun! I've always wanted to go on a subway, but it's a little hard when I'm in Montana. :p You look absolutely stunning for sweating in 90 degree weather! Thanks for sharing and warning us about taking photos of performers. Hahah. xoxox

May I say that I agree with you? On a hot day, stuck in a hot subway (I've been on the NYC subway and it was HOT!), please wear deo. I always carry deo in my purse for cases just like this! Hot subway. Crowds. My 18 hour deo just hit its 18th hour! :)

But, I love the subway anyway.

That sounds so fun! I've never been on the subway.. About the hot pink manicure, have you ever tried Pink Parka by Essie? If not I'm sure you'd LOVE it! :)

NYers sound mean!

OMG! You took pictures of a subway performer? Girlfriend, that's crazy! Don't ever do that! LOL. Well, now you know. He only started calling you names because he probably thought you were trying to make fun of him or insult him. Also, subway performers can be considered panhandlers, and that is illegal in NYC, although lots of people do it. He might have been afraid that you would get him in trouble. The last reason is, he might have been crazy. LOL.

Yes, hot, crowded days in NYC subways are something, aren't they? Ugh.

NY'ers aren't that bad. I'm a born and bred NYC'er and I luvs ya. :) xxoo
