I'm new to makeup and I've always wondered, what's the difference between smokey eye makeup and normal eyeshadow makeup...?

you are so talented Kandee <3

a smokey eye is just an intensely colored or shaded eye...heavy on the color from the corners to the crease, with usually a highlight spot of lighter color somewhere on the lid...

I recently found your tutorials on youtube and I really enjoy them, thank you for taking time to make them. I used to wear makeup when I was younger. Years ago Maybellene changed their liquid eye liner and I have never been able to find one to stay on like the old formula. In the inner rim of the eye, so evenutally I stopped wearing makeup. That and now Im older and the makeup always settles and by the end of the day I look a lot older than I am. Do you have any suggestions for eye liner that has staying power for the inner rim of the eye?

What brush did you use to apply the Grape & Haze colors? That's the fluffy brush I'm dying to get! LOL

This look is really beautiful in the picture but in the video it looks so muted and not that bright beautiful purple at all. I don't think I'm a big fan of the lighting in your new bathroom. Maybe it's just the difference in a regular camera and video camera. I don't mean to criticize, cuz I'm a HUGE Kandee fan, but I wish I could see the vibrance and depth of the colors on the video.

that was an awesome video kandee! keep em' coming! the way you did the purple is the same look you did with the naked pallette. can you show some other techniques too?

thx kj!!

Thank you for the sparkle today. I love you and all your videos. I hope your leg is all healed. Did you know that scar tissue is stronger than regular tissue? You always talk about covering the scar up with a bandana, I say be proud of the scar. The scars show the trials we have been thru and how much stronger we are for having made it thru the pain. You are beautiful, scar and all:) have a blessed day.

Dearest Kandee, thank you for the wonderful purpleness, sometimes I find it hard to wear purple. =]

I have a fashion quetion/request...

could you do a video on how to blech your jeans?
Like from the 80's.
I've always loved that, and was never able to properly figure it out, and since you're a fellow lover of the 80's as well, I figure that would be something you'd like.
Anymore video's on the 80's would BE TOTALLY RAD! =P

Love you Kandee! Have a Great day off!!!!

hey Kandee, I'm a follower who has been always "in the shade". I love your work, your tips and your amazing spirit :)

I need some help: I'm an actress from Portugal and I'm going to NY next week, I'm going to shoot a feature film! It's a project from a friend of mine who is in the US studying.

It's a small low budget project, so we all take our stuff, and help in any way. It's a beutifull, simple little story, and we really put our hearts in it.

So I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on HD Movie Makeup. How to create the flawless movie skin... considering the lights, the maintenance of it throughout the shoot, and, of course, how to fool an HD camera into "thinking" we're... well, perfect.

since I'm 30, and and still struggling with some zits and scars (residue from the acne I had from 12 to 24, that never really went away), and at the same time, I have dry and sensitive skin, sometimes flaking, and the fine lines and expression wrinkles are starting to show up...

well, if you could help, in any way, I would be so gratefull...

I wish the best to you, and thank you for all you've been giving to all of us.

love from Portugal

Hi Kandee! I love all the how-to videos. I have learned so much from you. I really enjoyed the smokey eye one from today and already did it 2 different ways. My daughter loved it and told me I looked like a movie star, she is so cute :-).

So thank you, thank you, thank you! I love to save your blog for the last to read :-)

Heyy !
I have to say you are such an amazing person and talented make-up artist! I always had two dream jobs when I was a kid, fashion designer and make-up artist. When I started to follow your youtube videos (and your blog), how happily you were teaching people and how you talked about your job it really made me think seriously about being a make-up artist because first I was going to get fashion designer education.. But now I'm starting make-up lessons here in Finland next month and I just can't wait! I'm pretty sure I made the right decision. :)

Hiya Kandee <3 I'm Heather.
I've spent the last two weeks watching and reading random blogs by you and I'm addicted! Sometimes, when I can't sleep, I'll just watch some videos of yours ;D I think you have a lot of talent, and best of all, you're beautiful - inside and out! And you don't find that everyday! ;D

So here's my little chip on my shoulder. I have TWO broken teeth, my front ones to be exact. We don't have money or insurance right now to get it fixed. Anyway, they're SUPER GLUED in. Yes. You read correctly. (They fall out time to time, did so during PROM and GRAUATION!!! DX)
What I want to know is, how you keep going, even though something, like broken teeth, knocks your confidence level waaaay down. I'm usually a strong person, I've been through SO much in my life, but this is... different.

I love ya, Kandee! ^_^
Even if you don't reply to this, clearly, tons of people love you and want you to succeed <3

P.S. - You should do more videos like the lemon and sugar video. I've read tons of Cosmo magazines and they have some tricks in there for skin and hair and whatnot. I think more of these would be AWESOME because a lot of the things used can be bought around the grocery store for cheaper than a pricey bottled alternative ;D

I love this make up! Ionly but is that it is too dark for me as I have really blue eyes. Could you do write tips or make video of the make up's what are good for blue eyes? :) Or what colors to use?
