Save Money: How to Cut Your Own Hair

Want to save some dollars, euros, rupees, coins...
I'm going to show you how! You can cut your hair yourself!
Yes, don't be scared! I cut my own hair for years, and some of my favorite hair cuts have been done by my own 2 hands!
Take this one for example: (all me baby!) Yes, I bleached it platinum myself too.
HOW TO CUT THE PERFECT BANGS or FRINGE:
You wanna know the secret to get a really spectacular hair cut. Top stylists have learned a skill that's been passed down from stylists to stylist- the dry cut. It's not taught in schools, the art of dry cutting is when a stylist washes, dries, flat irons and styles the hair before cutting the hair. You can see where the hair puffs up or which direction it wants to go, this way, so your cut is comes out perfect! And dry cutting is PERFECT for your BANGS or FRINGE!

Now you might be thinkin', "well that's great Kandee, but you went to beauty school (AKA Cosmetology school)...I might totally mess up my hair!"
No, some of my friends that have the coolest hair, do it themselves, with no training at all! (Even Sharon Stone cuts her own hair!)
You know your face, and how you like to wear your hair better than any one else on the planet! You can custom tailer the perfect, face framing haircut for yourself!

It's so easy and fast! It's like a make-over for your face! So here how to cut your own bangs or frings, these are cute sideswept bangs! All you need is a comb, some good shears and your hair.

TIP: I blow dried and straightened my hair before I cut them. This gives you the straightest, most desirable hair to cut. (Cutting hair dry, gives you a more precise cut!)

know let's get ready to cut some awesome bangs!
get mark, get set, get combs, get scissors...get ready for gorgeous!
huge love, and even "huge-er" hair, your kandee

loved it, much easier then using a razor comb... haha. you can easily get oops with that. hey kandee could you do a video on straighteners, like which you'd prefer i have seen and experienced a lot that have the 'high brand name' but the plates still get a icky rust/burnt color, and damage the hair more than it should. hope you're feeling better!

You are right out this...

Whilst I don't have the guts to cut all my own hair. I defo get home from the salon and carry on doing the fringe (bangs) until I am 100% with it myself!

No one seems to be able to do exactly what I want with it so it's a good idea to get used to doing your own I think!

I like your videos =D I think one of my first ones was of you cutting your bangs =D

I had a dream about you and your youtube videos last night too!! It was so weird! I just remembered right now cuz of major deja vu while watching this lol

I had my fringe perfect one time and the last time I went to my barber and he cut them again it looked completely different! I was not happy at all. So I have been growing them out and their slightyly longer than yours at the beginning of your video and I'm so tempted to cut them now! How do you know how much of your bangs to bring down to cut with the fringe? Also I get that thing where my hair splits in between parts of my fringe any tips how to prevent that?

Great video! This is exactly how I cut my bangs. Only they never come out right. I always end up looking like I got some 80's style hairdo (like in Charlie's Angels) which I don't like too much.

Sharon Stone hasn't cut her own hair in years. Her hairdresser is Rob Ortega. She only cut it herself when it was super short.

I've never seen hair cut this way before. Brilliant and it looks so good on you. Any fun tips for us curly-haired folk, though?

kandee! is it okay to request for a tutorial on how to cut full bangs? i know that's kinda hard to do and is best left to the professionals, but well the side bangs lose their shine too soon.^^

Hah, I cut my hair slightly hungover one Saturday morning. My fiance screamed when he saw me and said I looked as if I had "problems"! :)

As for make up requests - I'm getting married in August and am looking for a certain look. I saw Natalie Portman with a browney, bronzey purple look that was stunning, I think it was the Oscars but not sure. :)

Hi,
Can you tell me have you ever used Dermablend setting powder for a photoshoot?
If so, did the Colorless one give a "ghost like" appearance?

Could you compare:
Dermablend and Makeup for ever setting powder HD

I know that both are used for photo shoots I was just wandering if there was any "real" difference except the price.

:)
thanks

I've stopped cutting my own fringe recently because I've found that most hairdressers will cut your fringe for free! They all seem to do it!

I watched this video when I woke up this morning and after styling my hair realized my bangs were in SERIOUS need of a trim! I followed your technique and my hair turned out great! Thanks so much for sharing this!

hey kandee! i was just wondering where you got your combs... i wanted to get that color as to keep people from jacking my supplies because everything i have is some odd color and what more awesome color than neon pink.

ps - i am a regular blog reading and i have to say that some of the stuff that you write is so heart felt and so touching. like you, i do not like religion, but i believe in a high power and i do belive that they sned of events in our lives to test our strength. for some reason the song airplanes by b.o.b kinda brings me out of anything when i'm sad. or the glee soundstracks because they are awesome to sing and dance to.

live. love. laugh hard.

Hey Kandee! Loved the video and the way your bangs turned out. Wanting a change, I took the bold move to give it a try to myself. I tried to go for the side swept bangs with a rocker feel but ended up with straight across bangs. LOL. Don't know where I went wrong... but oh well. I don't hate them. What do you think?

Hi Kandee! I've been following your vblogs for about a couple of months now and I had attempted two of your tutorials (shaping eyebrows and cut my bangs).

With your help,
- I got a new bangs (http://azlinthebeautytester.wordpress.com/2010/06/25/bangs-the-kandee-way/)
- and a pair of well-groomed eyebrows (http://azlinthebeautytester.wordpress.com/2010/06/23/at-last-a-well-groomed-pair-of-eyebrows/)

Thank you!!!

Did this & love it! My baby fine hair takes FOR E VER to grow, so I don't want to just make an appointment to get my bangs cut. Just used my bf's scissors for his facial hair.
Thanks so much! Now on to the eyebrow tutorial.
And thanks for showing me how to do a smoky eye that doesn't look like I got punched.
