Fav Movie Treat: Popcorn or Candy?

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE TREAT?
9:45pm (last night)
Me and My mom venture into the movies to see Letters to Juliet. (I liked it by the way.)
The second we walk in, it smells like goodies, popcorn, yumminess.
And what did my trusty Hello Kitty purse have inside for me!?!? you ask
LET me first tell you....
I've made a change!
I am going to eat good foods so I feel and look good!
The normal Kandee, would want a few bites of someone's popcorn, something chocolatey. And maybe some red vines or Junior Mints! And I'd probably want someone to order an Icee, so I could sip from it.
Anyone who wants to join me, on my, GET FIT & FEEL BETTER FOR SUMMER, come along, we'll do it together!
SO ANYWAY!
For the 1st time in my life (at the movies anyway)....
I DIDN'T eat any candies or popcorn!
Back to what Hello Kitty had hidden inside!!!
FROZEN GRAPES in a ZIPLOCK bag!
I didn't, but I thought I would, have a hankering for a chocolate treat!

TRY IT, it's sooooo good! Like a sweet soft, frozen, sorbet Bon-Bon!

SUMMER SLIMDOWN MOVIE TRICK:
wash grapes
put em in a ziplock, plastic bag, in the freezer for a few hours
put em in your purse wrapped in paper towels (so they stay cold and don't get your purse wet)
and you'll be so proud of yourself, and you'll have less calories to work off to get bikini ready!

love and movies stubs, your grape-lover, kandee

I started packing fruit and veggies to snack on about two years ago when I went vegan. The indie theater I go to offers vegan things, but they're still not "good" for you. Green apples with peanut butter, carrots and ranch, berries, and pears are my favorite!

Well Kandee, you do know that pop corn is a actual healty snack... it's the salt/butter/quantity that we eat that is not so good ! Anyway, love frozen grapes !

I love frozen grapes! Another trick is when they are wet, after washing them, throw them in a ziploc and sprinkle in a little powdered jello (I use sugarfree) and roll them around and throw the bad in the freezer. Yummy! PS I need to get my booty in gear and start passing up the goodies. Ha

What a great idea Kandee! (Love, Debbie, formerly MUAinTheMaking). I'm on board. Please do blog about your experience with this to keep us all encouraged! I just started walking 2 miles a day and have been doing yoga regularly. The most difficult part for me is getting started. During and after exercise, I feel great. The food is another thing. I find if I "deprive" myself from the good foods for too long, I totally end up binging on it at some point. There has to be a healthier way. Thanks for bringing this up and for being a positive leader, yet again!!!

Oh Kandee what do you have to worry about! You are gorgeous and you work out! =p

I rarely buy anything other than water at the movies cause I go very often. I might get a scoop of low fat ice cream occasionally but that's it.

However I have thyroid problems and it is hard for me to exercise as I get tired quicker than a normal person and my metabolism has slowed down significantly from the hormone disfunction so out of nowhere I started building up cellulite and putting on weight I can't burn easily.

So even though I eat an amount of food that would normally keep me almost skinny I am regular with deteriorating skin hehe it's not as bad as I make it look! I am quite comfortable with my body.

What I want to say is that as a teen growing up I remember hating the summer cause I always thought I didn't look fit/slim enough to go to the beach and felt horrible, always wrapped up in a towel or wearing clothes, and I am s size 6US (8UK)!There shouldn't be such a thing as 'bikini ready'. People have different types of bodies and we should all aim to keep them healthy but feel good in them no matter what- all year round!

I know all you want is to keep people fit and healthy cause you are so wonderful and such a beautiful person, inside and out. I just felt like sharing this as I am sure so many women out there have been/are going through this insecurity hell more often than they should and it can be triggered by the mentioning of just one word sometimes!

Love, hugs and frozen kisses!!! ^_^

What a great idea! I eat fruit during movies, too! That is a super easy way to work healthier foods into your diet. I haven't eaten frozen grapes in a long time -- I will definitely try it again! :D

hi kandee... im mexican, so please forgive my english...:S

can i tell you my story??

last year i was diagnosed with systemic Lupus, an incurable disease, and i was near to die at the hospital... but, im a believer, and i have faith in God... and one of the very best things that have helped me is good humor... even when some times have a lot of scare to die, i try not to let me fall down...
you are such an inspiration of joy and happiness in life... when im sad or depressed ill watch your vids and i know they are going to make me feel better...

now, getting back to the topic of your post... i looove popcorn and chocolates!!!
but, now that i have Lupus, im loosing my hair, and a lot of side effects but the most important is that i´ve gained a lot of weight because of the prednisone, i need to loose like (30 kilos)... :S
so, i really think that your idea about carrying frozen fruits to the movies is great!!... i have to try to forget about goodies like hot dogs and chocolate muffins so i can follow a diet, coz is getting so difficult to loose weight...:S... so im with you, lets get healthier...

hugs and kisses, i love you... thank God i found you... you are awesome!!

be sure to buy them organic, grapes are on the dirty dozen list of the fruits and veggies with the most pesticide content.

I never eat at the cinema. I prefer to just watch the movie and not eat anything.
I'm currently trying to eat better and I've going to the gym a few times a week. But I can't ever stop eating chocolate. I NEED chocolate!

@rolek155 - there are about 30 calories per 55g serving so it just depends how much you eat of them.

What about your cupcakes kandee? I love my brownies (homemade), hagan daz or ben and jerrys, and popcorn with tabasco.

also, grapes have antioxidants!

I usually bring my own snacks, the movie theater snacks are soo expensive! I try to eat healthy, but I am a chocolate lover :) I always bring some dark chocolate bars or reeses peanut butter cups ;)

In my home country, the traditional cinema has so many candies and goodies to buy, so of course I always ate some. Now in my new town in south France, the theater is small and they don't sell anything else than the tickets for the movie - i'm learning new way not to eat anything while watching and it feels good too :)

I'm trying to get few kg off, to get really in good shape (not just slim, but more muscles and healthy). It's hard but getting better :)

I hope you have great week!

KANDEE ! I have an enormous problem. I ordered the 8 Oz bag from Sun Labs that you suggested in one of your videos on Youtube. It's been a month that I've order it and it's not here yet! I sent 3 emails to the customer service and they didn't answer me! What can I do to have information about where my products are or what is going on with them?! I'm really disapointed..

I love that idea!..I used to be in love with eating goobers at the movies, but none of them sell them anymore..it's probably for the best because now I can eat healthier at the theater!

Such self control! I went to the movies this weekend and got raisinettes! I'm bad! Normally I pop my own 100 calorie pack of popcorn and bring some variationof crystal light. Makes me feel like it's still "movie theater" food
