for the most part heat protectants are a joke, some really do help add moisture, they put more oils in your hair mostly, a good conditioner can help with that too!

Yay for ghd's (a friend of mine has one), they are awesome!!!!!
I can't wait til my hair gets a little longer (stuck in bob land) so I can style with the straightener. Working with sponge rollers for now :(.

Heat protectors are great! Well, actually, just a good leave in conditioner that doesn't weigh down the hair is way better to me. :)

Kandee, my straightener isn't shaped right for curls. :( Can you teach me how to use hot rollers? PLLEEEASE!! I've always wanted to know how to use the bigger ones to get some bounce and volume.

i do this every week and love it, it is so easy but my hair is much thicker and it takes sooo long! i always twist the curl around my finger when im done and it really bounces up. love your hair Kandee, will have to get me some wax!

here is a link for the amika ZEBRA hair straightener. I got mine in Canada for 120$ this one is more expensive but you can see how awesome it isss!

Wow! Thanks! I think you have amazing hair..my hair is super thin, but I seem to be able to get lots of volume and do tons more hair styles then girls with thick hair! We have to look at all the positives!! Right?! Have a great day!!

I love it! Your hair is beautiful... I wish I was able to do this with my hair but it's wayyyy too thick. I've been to salons all over the NW and also in the L.A. area and every single person I've been to tells me I have the thickest hair they've worked with. My hair holds curl well but not w/my flat iron. I've already tried this :( dang it! I'm glad it works for you though!!! How is your leg?

This is awesome! But where does she say anything about the heath protectant, I watched the video twice and didn't hear anything about it.

@ Silvia_A :
it's mentioned on the little block on the top of the screen at the beginning when she is listing supplies needed for the look.

I don't think it's fair to say that heat protectants are a gimmick. I use Redken Hot Sets and it makes a WORLD of difference in my hair. I wouldn't style my hair with any hot tool without using it. Great tutorial. Not sure it would work with my naturally thick and curly hair, though. Bummer.

im going to try this out tomorrow, thank you for this video Kandee <3

GHD is, hands down, the best flat iron out there. Using it for curling, making waves, AND straightening shows that it is definitely worth the investment. About the heat protectants...it does seem like a gimmick, but they should be used. To prove it, just spray some on one hand. Then use your blow dryer and blow the heat on the protected hand. Then, do it on the unprotected hand. You should notice a BIG difference! The protected hand should take much longer to feel the heat. It's a great way to test your heat protector :) Oh! And the Sebastian Craft Clay is GREAT for oily scalps. Just rub some between your fingers and run them thru your roots. It absorbs the oil and gives you wicked awesome volume.
